Khumkrong Rak team and values

Our Story

Built Around the Pace of the People We Serve

Khumkrong Rak was founded with one idea in mind: that pension matters are too important — and too personal — to be rushed.

Who We Are

The Practice Behind the Name

Khumkrong Rak — which carries the meaning of "caring protection" in Thai — was established in Chiang Mai to serve individuals and families who need careful, unhurried guidance through pension-related legal matters. The practice grew out of a recognition that most legal services in this area were shaped around the institution rather than the individual: forms were dispatched, deadlines were set, and clients were expected to keep up.

We chose a different approach. Each person who contacts us receives an honest conversation first — one that maps their situation in plain language and sets out the options clearly, without obligation. We understand that many of our clients are at a significant point in their lives, or are helping a parent or partner through one. They deserve considered advice, not a sales process.

The practice is based at 84 Thanon Si Donchai in the Chang Khlan neighbourhood of Chiang Mai. We work with clients across the city and region, and are accustomed to handling matters that involve both Thai pension bodies and international pension authorities.

Our Mission

"To ensure that every person who needs pension legal guidance can access it clearly, calmly, and at a pace that lets them make fully informed decisions — however long that takes."

Core Values

  • Patience — We work at your speed, not ours.
  • Clarity — Every step is explained before it is taken.
  • Discretion — Your affairs remain your own.
  • Honesty — We tell you what's realistic, not what you'd prefer to hear.

The Team

People You'll Actually Speak With

How We Work

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

These are not policies for display. They describe how we actually operate, day to day.

Qualified Legal Practice

All advice is provided by qualified legal professionals with specific experience in pension and benefit law under the Thai legal framework.

Written Confirmations

Anything agreed in a session — scope, costs, next steps — is confirmed in writing afterward. Nothing proceeds on a verbal understanding alone.

Data & Privacy Protection

Client information is held in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. Records are kept securely and access is limited to those directly involved in your matter.

Regular Client Updates

For ongoing matters, we provide clear updates at agreed intervals. Clients are never left wondering what is happening with their case.

Document Accuracy Review

All submissions go through an internal review before they are sent. A second check reduces the likelihood of errors that could delay or complicate a pension matter.

No-Pressure Enquiry Policy

We do not follow up unsolicited after an initial enquiry. If you contact us with a question, you receive an honest answer, not a sales call.

Pension Legal Guidance in Chiang Mai

Pension matters — whether they involve understanding a retirement benefit, navigating a claim after a family bereavement, or managing a long-running dispute with a pension body — require both legal knowledge and a particular kind of patience. The law itself is not simple, and the bodies that administer pensions operate on their own timetables.

Khumkrong Rak brings together legal expertise and a calm, methodical approach that suits clients who want to understand every stage of their matter before committing to the next one. Our three core services — the Pension Clarity Session, Records & Submission Support, and Extended Pension Support — are designed to meet clients wherever they are, from an initial need for information through to ongoing representation.

We work with individuals approaching retirement who want clarity about what they are entitled to, with families managing a pension matter on behalf of a parent or spouse, and with those in the middle of a pension-related legal process who need steady, experienced support. Our team is experienced in both the Thai Social Security Office processes and the requirements of various foreign pension authorities, which is particularly relevant in the Chiang Mai area with its large international resident population.

Our office in Chang Khlan is open Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings, and we welcome appointments that suit the client's own schedule and circumstances.

We'd Be Happy to Introduce Ourselves

If you'd like to learn more about how we work before deciding whether to get in touch formally, you're welcome to call or write. There's no commitment in asking a question.
